Mutlaka Oku

By Janet Ekstract ISTANBUL-  In a joint news conference between Turkish President Erdogan and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest,  both leaders praised one another. The Turkish president’s visit to Hungary has yielded an ever closer relationship, as Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban said: “We have advanced the Turkiye-Hungary relationship to the level of enhanced strategic partnership. I don’t know if there is anything beyond this in diplomatic terms. I believe this is the strongest in terms of friendship and brotherhood.” Orban lauded the global role he said Turkiye has been successfully engaging in and said his country would have no security if it weren’t for Turkiye. He added that Turkiye is the only country to achieve concrete steps with Ukraine and Russia through its grain deal that Turkiye brokered through the U.N. in 2022.

It was the sixth meeting of the Turkiye-Hungary High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council held at the Carmelite Monastery. During the meeting, both leaders highlighted how crucial bilateral relations between the two countries are and Erdogan presented a monumental project for the next century. As Orban told Erdogan: “The coming century will be yours (Turkiye’s). We believe in this and made agreements.” During the meetings, both leaders signed a 17-article cooperation agreement to increase relations between the two countries to the enhanced strategic partnership level.
