ISTANBUL- The US and Turkey were in discussions about bilateral and regional issues on Wednesday at the NATO Foreign Minister’s Meeting. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met on the second day of the NATO meeting in Riga, Latvia.
Cavusoglu who spoke to the press prior to the meeting, had expressed positive sentiments about meeting with Blinken again and said that as NATO allies the two will be discussing Libya, Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan. Blinken also spoke warmly about meeting with Cavusoglu and added that the two discussed the Western Balkans, Ukraine and the Caucasus. Blinken added that they both will also discuss issues of cooperation between the US and Turkey as well as those in the region.
