By Janet Ekstract ISTANBUL – Sources at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Turkish and Russian deputy foreign ministers will be in Istanbul for consultations on Middle East issues on Friday.
Major topics of discussion will include Syria and Palestine with Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Nuh Yilmaz representing Turkiye and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov representing Russia. The agenda will include a comprehensive exchange on regional developments in those regions with an assessment and bilateral perspectives related to political dialogue in the Middle East.
A source at the Turkish Foreign Ministry told Russia’s TASS news agency: “Consultation on the Middle East between Turkiye and the Russian Federation at the deputy foreign ministers level will take place in Istanbul on April 25, 2025.” The same source added: “The Russian Federation is a country with which Turkiye attaches great importance to consultations, especially in the context of developments in the Middle East.”
