NEW YORK (TURKISH JOURNAL) – Dilek Kaya – Emre Bozkurt, 22, died on the spot after being shot in his car in San Leandro, California, USA.
Emre Bozkurt, who lives in California, was attacked yesterday morning at around five o’clock in his car while video chatting with his cousin on his cell phone.
According to the information given to Turkish Journal by his cousin Gürkan Ayhan; “A black youth approached Emre Bozkurt’s car, opened the door, shot him in the head and then took his phone and ran away.”
Ayhan said that they have also contacted the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles for legal proceedings regarding Bozkurt’s sentencing. Ayhan, who started a campaign on the “Gofundme” website for the expenses related to the transportation of the body to Turkey, said that he expects the support of the Turkish people in this regard.
Authorities have not yet made a statement about the person who shot Bozkurt in his car and fled after extorting his cell phone.
