Pope Francis joins the Youth Movement in Panama

PANAMA CITY (TURKISH JOURNAL) – Nishat Mirza – Pope Francis arrives Panama to speak to 100,000 Youth for World Youth Day Panama Festival.

Panama is celebrating Youth by hosting the largest youth gathering. 100,000 young people gathered in Panama City for the World Youth Day Festival 2019, Jan 22- Jan 27. Hence, at this moment Panama City is the youngest city in the world.

Pope Francis joins this celebration of Youth today, as he arrives in Tocumen Airport, Panama. He was received by the President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela and his wife along with the Secretary of State of Vatican and other officials. 2,500 people welcomed the Pope together with a beautiful ceremony of colorful young people dancing in traditional folk dance, Band playing the National Anthem and children presenting flowers to their Holy Father.

The people of Panama have opened their city wholeheartedly to young people, volunteers, journalists and other officials by hosting them in their houses, volunteering their times and providing kind welcoming gestures. The city is decorated with youthful enthusiasm and colors.

While describing Panama City’s plan on the occasion of welcoming Pope Francis for the first time in Panama, Víctor Chang, Executive Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee of World Youth Day, said first time Panama is working on the international platform to give it’s people an experience of a lifetime.

The Pope has finally arrived to Panama City, to call Young people for an action to life in the service for others. This City, Youth of the World and Panama’s People will have the Magnificent Presence of POPE Francis until the 27th of January, 2019 and his message awaits.
