Turkish PM to run for leadership of his party for last time on Sep 30

PM Erdogan said that he would run for leadership of his party for the fourth but last time on September 30.

The Chairman of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday said that he would run for leadership of his party for the fourth but last time on September 30.

Speaking at a provincial congress of his party in central Anatolian province of Eskisehir, Erdogan stressed that he would run for leadership of his party for the fourth and last time on September 30, the day when the AK Party would hold its great congress in Turkish capital of Ankara.

“As promised, we were elected deputies for the third and last term on June 12, 2011. Some of us will be out of active politics for a term and everyone later will have a chance to become deputies again. Based on our promise, I will run for leadership of the AK Party for the fourth and last time on September 30,” Erdogan indicated.
